Biospecimens without high-quality data are of no value
Biobanks juggle spreadsheets and LIMS never designed for biospecimens. Consent, chain-of-custody and audit are hard to prove — and increasingly mandated. Capable software exists, and much of it is open source and genuinely free to self-host — if you have the IT department, the compliance staff and the upgrade discipline to run it. Most biobanks do not. Specibo is that capability operated as a product: hosted or installed, kept current, localised, and delivered with the consent and audit machinery already wired up.
